December 4 - 6, 2009

This is the oldest of our three fall conferences; we've had 60 CMC North conferences and 51 have been at this one venue. It is held one week after Thanksgiving, the weekend surrounding the first Saturday in December. The beautiful, historic Asilomar State Beach, on the Monterey Peninsula, has been the setting for over 50 years. This year's theme is

MATHEMATICS FROM MANY ANGLES

09AsilDodeca:

The mathematical and artistic brilliance of John Martin of Santa Rosa Jr College's Mathematics Department in designing this year's conference logo is gratefully acknowledged. Another recent Math Conference design, Mathematics is Golden, was featured in the front section of the 8/25/08 San Francisco Chronicle on a T-shirt worn by Stanford mathematician, NPR's resident mathematician, and frequent Asilomar presenter, Dr. Keith Devlin.

A version of this logo will be available on T-shirts and other items for sale at the conference.
