Festival Grant

Grants from the CMC state organization are available to help your public or private school defray the cost of hosting a Math Festival at your site.

You may be eligible for two different grants:

You can receive only one $1000 Festival grant from either source.

The state grant is administered by the Student Activity Trust Fund (SATF). The guidelines are:
  • The person signing the SAT Grant Form must be a current member of the California Mathematics Council.

  • The school must submit a letter on school stationery answering the question, "Why we (your school) would like a Math Festival." The letter must also include a statement of need and the demographics of your student population.

  • The school must complete and submit an SATF Grant Form (download: Festival Grant Application) with the requested information.

  • The SATF Grant Form and your school's letter must be mailed to:

    CHRISTINE ROBLES
    CMC STUDENT ACTIVITIES TRUST CHAIR
    826 Colleen Drive
    San Jose, CA 95123

  • The school must submit a written follow-up report on their Math Festival program within four weeks of its event.
If your school receives a grant, you will get a letter for a $1000 credit for a Math Festival good for one year from the date your grant is received. Your school will be responsible for the balance due.

Contact Paul Giganti, Director of the CMC Math Festival Program at pgiganti@berkeley.edu if you would like a detailed cost estimate. Please explore your other sources of funding needed in addition to this SAT Grant BEFORE applying.

For additional information on this SATF Grant opportunity, please contact Christine Robles, CMC Student Activity Trust Chair at wcrobles@earthlink.net.
