The Student Activity Trust Fund
|
|
Purpose:
In
order to promote student involvement and interest in the field of
mathematics, the Student Activities Trust Fund provides financial
support to qualified organized student activities. Examples of
qualifying activities include Math Field Days, Problem Solving
Contests, Honors Math Contests, and Mathematics Olympics.
Criteria:
- Application forms for financial support must be submitted by
SEPTEMBER 1st of each year. The grant will be for no more than 50% of
the student activity budget, excluding food costs, as stated in the
application.
- The student activity to be supported must be in the field of mathematics.
- At least one of the persons responsible for the activity must be a member of CMC.
- Sponsor recognition must be given to the California Mathematics Council Student Activities Trust.
- It is strongly recommended that a registration fee be charged.
- The activity should be consistent with the goals of CMC and the NCTM Standards.
- Please indicate the number of students of diversity being served
by this activity when filling out the "report of funded activity" form
due after the event has been held.
- The application must be typed, if possible. This is very helpful
to the committee because we make copies of your application and some
handwritten applications are difficult to read when they are copied.
Donation Information:
- Donations are most appreciated to help us carry on this
important work that directly benefits California's students, and all
donations are tax deductible. Please mail your check in any
amount to:

- A full financial report must be submitted by the recipient within 30 days of the activity.
